Eight Western States

In my mind there are two United States. One is the newsworthy, population-filled one replete with issues, problems and controversies. The other one, the one I frequently photograph, is almost four million square miles (almost 10 million square kilometers) of sparsley populated but uniquely  beautiful land. The people I encounter there are visually interesting, open and have a great story to tell.
